​We are experiencing one of the greatest workforce demographic shifts in history. Consider these figures:

 

-        10,000 Baby Boomers (people born between 1946 – 1964) a day are reaching age 65

-        The Millennial Generation (people born between 1980 – 1999) is the largest working generation in the U.S. at over 53 million people

 

-        U.S. Census Bureau predicts that more than half of the nation's children will be part of a minority race or ethnic group by year 2020, with the total minority population projected to reach above 50 percent by 2041

-        More than 55% of undergraduate students in college are women, the largest gender enrollment gap in history

While our workforce is diversifying at a rapid rate, our talent practices – in large part - have not. We’ll share unique methods to engage and develop a diverse talent pool, and help you build an inclusive culture that maximizes their potential.  

 

Presenter Bio:

 

Ron Edwards is the Assistant Vice President of Early and Mid-Career Strategy at MassMutual, where he leads the company’s strategic efforts to attract, develop, engage, and retain high-potential early and mid-career talent. He has held various global HR leader roles across multiple disciplines including Organizational Development, Diversity, and Talent Management, and has led Talent Development efforts in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

 

An active member of his community, Ron has also served in leadership capacities for several civic organizations. He has been recognized numerous times for his efforts, garnering recognition from Partnership for the Future, INROADS, and from the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce as the only 3-time Young Professional Workplace of the Year Award Finalist. Ron was also previously featured by the Richmond-Times Dispatch as a Notable Young Professional.

 

A native of Washington, D.C., Ron and his wife Tanisha have two kids, Quinton and Layla. Ron graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration from Howard University, and holds a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) designation
