Gabriella (Gaby) Giglio, is the Executive Vice President of Global Human Resources for American Express.
Beginning her career at American Express in Risk Management and Operations, Gaby has experience working with and leading large international teams, relocating for roles based in Hong Kong and London. Her focus is on improving the employee experience and building talent. Realizing how critical applying a talent management lens is for business success, Gaby works to integrate and align human capital strategy with business strategy. Her passion for diversity and the development of strategies to grow, enable, retain and attract the very best talent has continued to flourish.
Gaby leads the CHROs for each business unit president, as well as, the HR teams located in each market, diversity & inclusion, data analytics, employee engagement, mergers & acquisitions, payroll, strategic capabilities & servicing and recruitment operations.
Prior to joining the corporate world, Gaby studied dance and joined Sadot, an Israeli dance troupe based in New York. Combining her love for children and dance provided the opportunity to teach children with autism the benefits of movement and rhythm through dance. During her time in London, she was a board member with Sadler’s Wells and is a member of the New York City Ballet. Gaby believes that the vigor learned on stage comes through in her career as well as in her flexibility and positive energy.
Gaby is known for her business savvy, direct and transparent communication, tenacity, relentless focus on leadership, as well as pioneering concepts with American Express such as the first Women’s Conference and growth mindset to drive results, all of which make her a unique and inspiring leader.
Gaby graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology from New York University and earned her master’s degree in educational psychology from Columbia University. She is a member of the GMT (Global Management Team at Amex), an executive sponsor for WIN (Women’s Interest Network), a member of the CHRO Board Academy, a board member of the Tenement Museum in New York City and the Federal Savings Bank Board for American Express.
