Building an HR Annual Report

Presentation Summary:

Organizations produce quarterly & annual reports to highlight the business successes and challenges for each sector & Company. For the past two years, Lionsgate HR has produced an Annual Report for Human Resources, to:

Encourage the HR team to see and measure themselves as “business people” impacting not only “people results” but business results at the organization; and

Represent to our business clients our “mindset” as business people and connect HR results to the organization

As we are looking to HR Data Analytics to provide more predictive data that we can use to better partner with our business clients, we expect that our Annual Report will become more useful in years to come.


Presenter Bio:

Industry veteran Ross Pollack joined Lionsgate’s senior management team in 2014 as executive vice president and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and is a member of Lionsgate’s Executive Committee reporting directly into their CEO, Jon Feltheimer. He oversees all aspects of human resources and administration for Lionsgate’s global operations, including the company’s EPIX, POP and Celestial Tiger partnerships, among others.

Pollack has been a leading international human resources and operations executive in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years. Between 2009 and 2012, he was hired as CEO of Hong Kong-based Celestial Pictures Limited and successfully restructured their operations, launched their film production business, expanded content distribution partnerships and achieved first-time profitability for the then 11-year old Chinese studio. He was instrumental in orchestrating Celestial’s channels merger with Lionsgate, Saban Capital and Tigergate that formed the Celestial Tiger Entertainment platform.

Pollack previously was a 13-year veteran with Sony Pictures Entertainment including successful stints as a human resources and distribution executive. Relocated in 2003 to Hong Kong, over a six-year span, Pollack reorganized Sony Picture’s Asia distribution business (including the launch of TV distribution offices in China, India, Korea and Singapore) and repositioned the business and brand as the “Asian Hollywood Studio.

During his tenure as SVP, Asia Distribution, Pollack tripled regional licensing revenue and his operation consistently led all Studios in Asia-Pac market share. Pollack joined Sony Pictures as VP of Total Rewards in 1996 and was named VP of International Human Resources and Operations in 1998.

Pollack has an MBA from Thunderbird and a B.A from Pace University. In addition to conversational fluency in Japanese, he is currently studying Mandarin Chinese. His hobbies include international travel, golf and photography (published).
