Presenter Bio:

As Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. Danna Szwed is responsible for the oversight and support of human capital needs at Ashley. This includes talent acquisition, management and development, HR services delivery, HR policies and programs, as well as preserving the company’s unique culture of positive engagement with it’s over 26,000 employees worldwide. She joined Ashley Furniture in June 2016.

Danna’s career in Human Resources began in Manufacturing with General Motors while earning her Master’s degree. Following Graduate School, she joined Citi, a leading financial product and services company. Throughout her 21 year career at Citi, she led various disciplines across HR, while living in multiple geographies in the US, Europe, and Asia. As a Managing Director, and member of Citi’s regional and global leadership teams, she cultivated relationships and influenced business outcomes by effectively working across multiple geographies, languages and cultures with her Stakeholders. Prior to joining Ashley, Danna was the Asia Region Head for HR Shared Services and Global Product Head for Recruitment & Onboarding, based in Singapore. She provided leadership and change management oversight to more than 450 HR employees across Asia to drive multi-year, global strategies.

Danna Szwed holds a Master’s Degree in Labor Relations & Human Resources, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University. She was a recipient of the 2016 World Women in Leadership Award and the Human Capital Future HR Leaders Award in 2007. In 2010, she was on the cover of HRO Today.
