Developing & Maintaining Organizational Culture

Presentation Summary:

The creation and maintenance of a Legal Department’s culture is a critical factor in determining a department’s success as a business partner to the broader organization. This presentation will discuss the culture building project that the Pearson legal department recently undertook for its global team. In particular, we will focus on the organizational drivers behind the project, project results, lessons learned, and the project’s long-term impact on the department’s culture.


Presenter Bio:

Bob Mignanelli is Senior Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Global Product & Technology, at Pearson plc. He leads a team of professionals that are responsible for providing legal support and guidance to Pearson's Global Product and Technology/Operations organizations, which have more than 4,000 employees. Supporting these businesses includes providing strategic advice and guidance on product development, operational, research and design, licensing, and transactional matters as well as mergers & acquisitions. He is a member of the Pearson Legal Department’s Senior Leadership Team and Operating Committee.

Prior to joining Pearson, Bob was corporate counsel for a technology start-up, a regulatory consultant for Arthur Andersen and spent several years in private practice in Washington DC. He is a member of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Arizona Bars.

Bob received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, an MBA from the University of Arizona, and holds a JD from The Catholic University of America.
